The Lilliard Ginnery
Our tiny micro-distillery is nestled by the River Teviot in the heart of the Scottish Borders. Our next door neighbour is the award winning Scottish Borders Brewery, so we are in good company in our tranquil little valley.
The countryside in this valley is lush fertile rolling hills, with endless opportunities for wild harvest. We share this part of the valley with Ospreys, Otters and Red Squirrels, so its not a bad place to work, or even to while away an afternoon.
It is a distilling tradition to give a still a female name, but at the Lilliard Ginnery we know that gender is so over, so meet Donald, our gorgeous little copper still.
He’s one of the smallest working stills in the UK, but don’t underestimate his ability. He’s got bags of character, and he’s more powerful than he looks.
Donald is named after our favourite Scottish Borders ambassador, a man as famous for his flowing copper locks as he is for his tact and diplomacy.
We would also like to make it very clear that he has nothing to do with the ‘other Donald’. Nothing. At. All.
